MCCPOP Perinatal Potpourri Conference 2026
Rooted in Community. Transforming Care.
Celebrating Black Maternal Health Week
Registration Open!
For over forty years, the Annual MCCPOP Perinatal Potpourri Conference has provided current advances in maternal, fetal, and neonatal medicine to healthcare providers around the world.

Consistent with this commitment, the Perinatal Potpourri 2026 will align with the ten-year anniversary of Black Maternal Health Week, a patient advocate-led event spotlighting and reinforcing the need for sustainable solutions to ensure Black women and birthing people receive high quality, respectful healthcare from preconception through postpartum. Potpourri's theme, "Rooted in Community. Transforming Care.", acknowledges Black Maternal Health Week 2026's focus on "justice and joy" during the birthing experience and the role of healthcare professionals in fostering positive health outcomes through exceptional care.

Black Maternal Health Week (BMHW), held annually from April 11-17, was founded by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA) to build awareness, activism, and community-driven soulutions for the U.S. Black maternal mortality crisis. Officially recognized by the White House in 2021, the campaign aims to center Black women's voices and reproductive justice, addressing the fact that Black mothers die at 3-4 times the rate of white mothers.

Black Maternal Health Week is more than a moment of recognition - it is a call to action. As we gather during the Perinatal Potpourri Conference, we acknowledge that improving maternal health outcomes requires more than awareness: it requires commitment, courage, and policy change.
The Mid-Coastal California Perinatal Outreach Program (MCCPOP), located at Stanford School of Medicine, Division of Neonatology, provides perinatal consultation and education led by neonatologist and maternal-fetal medicine specialist. Working in partnership with CMQCC, CPQCC, and additional Stanford Medicine experts, MCCPOP supports high-quality care for mothers, birthing people and newborns across the continuum.
